Reginald Hackie Lowery, 86, of Savannah, born March 9, 1935 in Cedar Crossing, GA went home to be with the Lord on December 11, 2021.
Hackie was born to sharecropper parents, all throughout his life he worked on the farm and learned hard work and dedication. He learned many skills and trades throughout his life. He was always very independent and determined to continue to achieve new things and reach all his goals and ambitions in life.
At age 16, Hackie went to dry cleaning school in north Georgia. By the age of 18, he was drafted by the military. Hackie was two weeks into basic training before being honorably discharged due to medical disability.
Hackie and his wife, Frances, owned and operated Lowery’s Sewing shop at multiple locations, Hinesville, Fort Stewart, and Hunter Army Airfield.
Hackie loved his family and friends, and he loved the Lord. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Savannah for the past 28 years.
Hackie is preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Mamie Frances Strickland Lowery; Sister, Rita Meeks; Brothers, Charles “Chuck” Lowery and I.J. “Joe” Lowery; His parents, Charles Edison Lowery and Queen Braddy Lowery.
He is survived by his brother, Wallace (Kathleen) Lowery; a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Dennis Clark; a son, R. Keith Lowery; 5 grandchildren, Alyson and Zackery Lowery, Amanda (Joe) Ralph, Morgan (Justin) Fincannon, Cory Clark; and 4 great-grandchildren, Alexis and Mackenzie Ralph and Macey and JB Fincannon.
