Preston James Orr

Preston James Orr, age 53, of Savannah, GA passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022 at home.

Mr. Orr was born on September 6, 1968 in Columbia, SC, the son of the late Calvin B. Orr, Sr. and Theodosia Gailey Orr, MD. He was a graduate of Hammond Academy and continued his formal education at the College of Charleston, earning a BA in Fine Arts in 1991. He also studied at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Preston was a talented artist and enjoyed fishing, remodeling his home, and kayaking. He gave kayak tours at Tybee Island and had the great experience of kayaking down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon.

Mr. Orr is survived by his brother, Calvin B. Orr, Jr. (Renee Taylor Orr); sister, Susan Orr Irwin (Stephen Irwin); several special nieces and nephews; and a host of great friends.

A Celebration of Preston’s Life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.
