Phyllis Marie Tiedeman Koss, 102, passed away peacefully Monday, May 17, 2021.
Ms. Phyllis was originally from Detroit, Michigan. She worked for ‘Mr. Label’ a 3M printing business for many years. Phyllis often moved (Detroit, Chicago, LA) when needed to help the company grow, which eventually led her in moving to Savannah, GA and commuting to Hilton Head Island, SC for work. The local newspaper suggested they call the business ‘Ms Label’ in an article about the business.
“Savannah is my home”. She brought with her, her mother Ida and miniature schnauzer McDuff. She and her mother were stables assisting with holy communion for years, and the church
recognized her business acumen by having her head up the record keeping for a church expansion project. She often found herself traveling to Atlanta for clothes.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ida Tiedeman; her sisters, Eunice Juanita Tiedeman, Joyce Elizabeth Tiedeman; and cousin, Wilfred George Tiedeman.
Ms. Phyllis is survived by her second Cousins, Karen Ondo of Florida, Mark Allen Tiedeman for whom she was godmother and wife Jamie, and third Cousin Jayson Tiedeman from Michigan.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 16, 2021 with Reverend Jeffrey Webb, Trinity Lutheran Church, at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 315 Greenwich Rd, Savannah, GA 31404.
The family requests memorials be made to Pruitt Hospice, 9100 White Bluff Road, Suite 305, Savannah,GA 31406; Trinity Lutheran Church 12391 Mercy Boulevard, Savannah GA 31419; or your local Humane, ASPCA or animal shelter.
The family would like to thank the staff at both The Gardens of Savannah (Lacarrie) and Pruitt Hospice, especially Mary Kay, Casey, Kim, Brittany, Nene and Chaplain Charles for their care, concern and compassion especially during these trying COVID times.
