Phyllis J. Mcelhaney

Phyllis Joy Baughman McElhaney, 82, of Guyton, Ga died Monday March 12, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center. She worked with Roger Wood Packing Company, Don's BBQ,of Georgia, and the Latex Manufacturing Company, of Indiana. She was a member of the Pineora Baptist Church.

What Mrs. McElhaney is most known for is her baby sitting. She was known as the neighborhood Meemaw. She helped the kids in the Garden City Mobile Estates who needed someone to make a difference in their lives. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and fishing.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Robert Lee McElhaney; her parents, Howard Baughman and Esther Mae Martin; her Brothers and Sisters, Mona, Marge, Norma, Danny, Roy, Paul, Larry Joe, and Ruth Ann.

Mrs. McElhaney is survived by her children Kathy McElhaney Wise and Joe McElhaney; sisters, Peggy Dunfee (Sam) and Susan Davidson (Harley); grandchildren, Danny Lafollette (Debbie), John Paul Lafollette (Kristie), Timmy McElhaney (Amanda), Patrick Hauger (Kristi), Andrew Hauger (Danielle), Karie Wise; and several great-grandchildren.

Graveside Service: Wednesday at 1:30 pm March 14, 2018 at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery on Dean Forest Rd.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday at 2:45 pm March 14, 2018 at Central Baptist Church 4010 Old Louisville Rd, Garden City, GA 31408.

In Lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to CASA.
