Philip McCallister - Michigan snowbird, Philip McCallister died peacefully at the age of 88 after a short illness on January 16, 2017.
Phil wintered on Tybee with his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and John Milton. He enjoyed a long, healthy life, fly-fishing Michigan's trout streams, sailing the Great Lakes and Atlantic Ocean, singing and acting in amateur theater and volunteering with the Boy Scouts. Phil was a WWII Veteran, University of Michigan graduate and a professional civil engineer. He enjoyed talking with everyone, a good cigar and a glass of wine. He was devoted to his family and to God. While on Tybee, he was the Lutheran -in-residence and a member of All Saints Episcopal Church.
Special remembrance prayers for him will be included in the 10:00 am, Sunday Service at All Saints Episcopal Church on January, 29, 2017, 804 Jones Ave., Tybee. There will be a gathering to celebrate his life in the church social hall after the service. Friends invited.
