Philip (Lovingly known as Phil) Harold Burnett Jr, 76, of 1 Peachtree Drive in Savannah passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised in Park Forest, IL. He was the son of Philip Sr. and Catherine (Conway) Burnett.
He was a retired Manager of Discount Records and a former employee of AT&T. He received an Associate’s degree from Prairie State College.
He will be remembered as a kind, supportive man with the biggest smile. Who encouraged many people over the years to pursue their love of baseball. He spent many years coaching and volunteering in the Park Forest Baseball League, becoming one of the most well-loved coaches of his time. He had many friends who will remember him for years to come. Phil was adored by his grandson who will honor him for the rest of his days.
His love of the St. Louis Cardinals would draw many people to him. Phil adored music and probably saw every live concert from the 70s to the 90s. His love of music was passed on to his beloved family.
He was preceded in death by Philip Burnett Sr. (father), Catherine Conway Burnett (mother), Janet Dehler (sister), and Jean Stephenson (sister).
Survivors include Son, Chip and Victoria Burnett, and Grandson Aaron Burnett of Bloomingdale, Georgia. Brother, Steve and Meior Burnett of Park Forest Illinois. Brother-in-Law, Thomas Stephenson of Leesburg Florida. Many cousins, nieces and nephews.
