Peggy Lamb Major, age 70, of Savannah passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022.
Mrs. Major was born on January 21, 1952 in Savannah, the daughter of the late Collie and Lucille Lamb. She was a 1970 graduate of H.V. Jenkins High School. She worked as an office manager with Georgia Infirmary and St. Joseph’s/Candler. Peggy was a member of Cresthill Baptist Church and had recently been attending Compassion Christian Church. She loved going to the beach, watching Georgia and BC football, and having family gatherings at her house.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Major was preceded in death by her former husband and lifelong friend, Robert “Butch” Major; her brother, Butch Lamb; and her sister-in-law, Deborah "Debbie" Lamb. She is survived by her son, Robert "Robbie" Major (Tommie); her granddaughter, Madison Major (Jack Follansbee); her grandson, Collin Major; her bonus grandchildren, Brooke Dunn (Jesse); Trevor Phillips (Brittney); bonus great grandchildren, Callie, Emery, and Elsie; two sisters, Dell Belew, Mary Bradshaw (Bill); one brother, Donald "Don" Lamb; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and dear friends.
Robbie’s former wife, Candace passed away when their children were young. She not only moved in to help out, but she helped raised Madison and Collin and took on the motherly role in their lives.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Burial will follow the funeral service at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
