Pearl Barrett Sapp of Savannah, Ga went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 21, 2021, with her sons by her side. Pearl was three days shy of her 100th Birthday.
Pearl was born on May 24, 1921 to Luther "Buck" and Lydia Jane Jackson Barrett. She grew up in Jena, Louisiana with her 7 siblings. Pearl attended LSU and beauty school in Monroe, La.
Pearl met and married her husband, Robert (Bob) "Jay" Sapp and moved to Savannah. Bob & Pearl were married for 65 years and had two sons, Jerry and Andy Sapp.
Pearl was a master beautician where she worked at Adler's & Belk Department Stores before opening her own shop.
Pearl is survived by her two sons Jerry (Susan), and Andy (Dale) Sapp, four grandchildren Shari Donaldson (Jeff), Candice Sapp, Danny Sapp( Kelly), and Missi (Joel) McMakin, eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Pearl enjoyed working in her garden, playing dominoes, visiting the mountains, and camping. She loved to catch & eat blue crab and fish. Pearl loved to sew and crochet . She loved all her friends at Silk Hope Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank the staff at Legacy Memory Care and Kindred Hospice for the love and care they provided for Pearl and her loved ones.
Visitation Service will be Wednesday May 26, 2021 at 10am, with the Funeral to follow at 11am at Silk Hope Baptist Church. Reverend Johnathan Phillips and Reverend Joel McMakin will officiate the service. Gravesite will be at Hillcrest Abbey West immediately following.
