Pauline Balkema, age 86, passed away Monday, January 26th, 2015 at Camellia Walk in Evans, Georgia.
A native of Savannah, she was the daughter of Walter Mitchell and Lula Davis Mitchell. A retired Cosmetologist, Pauline travelled throughout the world, including Okinawa and Southern Spain and spent the last part of her life living the Augusta, Georgia area.
Preceded in death by her parents and her husband Martin Jack Balkema, she is survived by a daughter, Paula (Richard) Brigdon of Griffin and son, Martin (Robin) Balkemaof Augusta; five grandchildren, Jeffrey (Mary Leslie) Brigdon of Marietta, Shaun (Christina) Brigdon of Salt Lake City, Utah, Christopher Brigdon of Marietta, Daniel Balkema and Kristen Orten both of Dallas, Texas; and three great-grandchildren, Daniel Hayes Brigdon & Reid Lewis Brigdon both of Marietta, and Henry Kye Brigdon of Salt Lake City.
The family will receive friends Friday, January 30th from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Bonaventure Funeral Home, with Funeral Services to follow at 12:00 P.M. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment: Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park, East in Savannah.
