Paul Richard Voogd USAF Veteran, 62, of Savannah, GA, passed away April 23, 2021.
Paul was born February 26, 1959 in Des Moines, Iowa to the late Lucille Miskell Voogd and Robert Voogd. He enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was stationed at Warner Robins AFB in Georgia. Paul received his associates degree from DeVry University in Electrical Engineering. He worked at Gulfstream Aerospace as a Material Control Specialist III. Paul loved to be outdoors. He enjoyed spending his free time working and adding extra features to his jeep. He loved spending time with family, traveling with the love of his life Diana, hiking, cooking, enjoying wine, and biking. He was a devoted Christian, having led many to the Lord.
He spent his early life attending Redeemer Lutheran Church, and later attended Compassion Christian Church. He loved to sing and was a member of the men's choir and used his skill with electronics to assist running the audio visual equipment. He was also a member of the American Legion #184 and was the former co-owner of Wine Times IV on Hilton Head Island.
In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by a brother, Michael Robert Voogd. He is survived by his beloved wife of 12 years, Diana O'Neil-Voogd; daughters, Christen Cuevas of Savannah, Tanya Adame and son-in-law Marco of San Antonio, TX; sister- in- law, Joan Voogd of Pleasant Hill, IA; sister, Margaret Ann Brockwell and brother-in-law David Brockwell of Palm City, FL; four grandchildren; Christopher, Thalia, Marco Jr., and Christian, and his two four legged children, Jackson and Missy; nieces, Kelli and Jamie; and nephews, Michael Jr., Justin, Joseph, and Jason.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA 31406. A service with Pastor Drew Humphreys officiating will begin at 6:30 p.m. and be held at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA 31406.
