Paul Neale Browning, 83, of Port Wentworth, Georgia, passed away Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Burdine, Kentucky and raised in Clintwood, VA. Paul was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served and retired from the U.S. Air Force and retired also from Armstrong State College, where he worked in Plant Operations Carpentry Shop. He was an active member of Bonnybridge Baptist Church in Port Wentworth, Georgia and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and trips to the Georgia Wildlife Refuge.
He was a member of Frank Baker Lodge #46 , Garden City, Ga. the Scottish Rite Consistory, and Alee Shrine Temple.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Taft Browning and Edna Colley Browning; siblings, John J. Browning, Glenna Browning, Peggy B. Say, Donald Browning, Ina B. Bolling.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sara Ann Harrell Browning; children, John Jay Browning (Valerie), Paula Hennessy, Charles Neale Taft Browning (Tammie), Kimberly Shuman Foran (Pat), 9 grandchildren, Jason Love, Brian Love (Ashley), Shawn Love, Sarah Hennessy, Chrissy Alford (Garrett), Tracy Burnsed (Lacee), Brooke Browning, Brittany Shuman, and Kaitlyn Shuman; 6 great grandchildren, McKenna, Marley, Roman, Fallon, Brooklyne, and Braelyne; sister, Nancy Martin (Ray); brother, Harold Berman Browning (Ellie), and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017 at the funeral home.
Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, with Rev. Dan Hall officiating.
Entombment: Hillcrest Abbey West Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital (stjude.org), or the Shriner's Hospital for Children (shrinershospitalforchildren.org).
