It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patsy Wiley Hopkins, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Patsy left this world peacefully on Saturday, November 30th, 2024, at the age of 73.
Patsy was born on a warm summer day, Tuesday, August 14th, 1951, in the charming city of Savannah, Georgia. Known for her strength, independence, and kind-hearted nature, Patsy touched the lives of all who knew her with her compassion and warmth.
She was a devoted secretary at D&R Construction, where she brightened the office with her diligence and friendly demeanor. In earlier years, Patsy embraced her creativity as a beautician, fostering many friendships along the way. Outside of work, she found joy in the great outdoors, reveling in fishing, hunting, and camping adventures with her late husband, William "Bill" Edward Hopkins, Sr., whom she cherished for 23 beautiful years.
Patsy was preceded in death by her loving parents, Calvin Wiley, Sr. and Ellen Ryals Wiley, her devoted husband, Bill Hopkins, and her dear brother, Calvin Wiley, Jr. Her legacy of love and kindness lives on through her children, Melissa Wiley and Heather Joyner; and sons and daughters-in-law, James Wiley (Brette Wilson), William E. "Billy" Hopkins, Jr. (Kristy), Jamie Hopkins (Misty), and Ryan Holder (Brooke).
She will be fondly remembered by her treasured grandchildren: Taylor Edenfield, Aren Wiley, Brooke Wiley, Connor Wiley, Trey Hopkins, Andrew Hopkins, Brandy Leegette, Kaylee Hopkins, Blake Hopkins, Ava Hopkins, Madison Hopkins, Brayden Joyner, and Liam Holder. Patsy's spirited siblings, Troy Wiley (May), Allen Wiley, Darlene Huff, and Betty Wagner (Jon), along with several nieces, nephews, extended family, and numerous friends, will also miss her dearly.
To honor Patsy's memory and celebrate her life, a memorial service will be held at Silk Hope Baptist Church, 4929 Pineland Dr, Savannah, GA 31405, on Thursday, December 5th, 2024, at 11:00 am. Friends and family are welcome to join for visitation prior to the service, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Silk Hope Baptist Church in Patsy's honor, to continue her legacy of giving and community support.
