Patricia Ann Gibson

Patricia Ann McGrath Gibson, 79, of Bloomingdale passed away March 14, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

She was born in Savannah, GA to the late John Richard McGrath, Sr. and Sara Frances Way McGrath on October 18, 1943, the youngest of three children. She attended Chatham County Schools and graduated from Savannah High School.

After graduating, she met and married Marcel Carter and from that union came four sons. She was a homemaker, doting on her family with all the love she had to give. In 1981, she met William Edwards Gibson, Jr. through a mutual friend and the two were married shortly thereafter.

She was an accomplished cook and gardener, loving mother and wife and Mema to her grandbabies, whom she loved with all her heart.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings and sons, David, Doug and Chad Carter.

Surviving are her husband of more than 40 years, William Edward Gibson, Jr., son, Jimmy Carter (Eileen); daughter in law, Donna Carter; grandchildren, Christy Carter, Danielle Into, DJ Carter, Krystle Hall, Christina Sykes, Chelsea Carter, Caitlin Carter and JD Carter; great-grandchildren, Brayci Carter, Alexis Into, Olivia Into, Sophia Into, Kinleigh Hall and Kolton Hall; adopted sister, Jennifer McGrath; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Noon in the chapel of the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 11am until the time of the service with Rev. Matt Travis officiating. Burial will follow at Bonaventure Cemetery.
