Patricia Gunter Anderson, age 62, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away February 27, 2018 at Memorial Health University surrounded by her family and friends.
Tricia was born on July 19, 1955 in Savannah, Georgia, to her loving parents, the late Charles and Anita Gunter. She graduated from Savannah High School in 1973. A few months later she married her high school sweetheart, Marshall Anderson, on October 6. They were married for 44 wonderful years and eventually settled on Wilmington Island.
She began her career in the shipping industry in Savannah as an Import Specialist. Her career began at the age of 18 working for E.L. Mobley, and she also completed more than 40 years in the business at Livingston International where she was employed at the time of her death.
Tricia was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was very proud of her family and was excited to become a "Nini" to her two grandchildren. Tricia loved to cook for her family and nothing brought her greater pleasure than to see them enjoy her cooking, especially her grandkids. She always believed in preparing home cooked meals, and most every night after work she was home preparing a meal for her family.
Tricia was known for her kindness and her strength. She was feminine and strong. She was the backbone of her family, always putting others needs in front of her own. She was the quintessential "Steel Magnolia."
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Marshall Anderson, daughter, Brooke Anderson, grandchildren Charlie & Hannah. Also survived by her sister Katherine Markwalter Linton (Lamar) and brother Joseph L. Markwalter (Faye) all of Savannah and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends will celebrate her life at Hubert C. Baker funeral home, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, Georgia, on Friday, March 9. Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00, immediately followed by the Funeral Service in the Chapel. Graveside services will follow at Greenwich Cemetery , 330 Greenwich Road Savannah, Georgia.
