Otis A Young Jr

Otis A. Young, Jr. "Junior" 83 of Savannah, GA passed away Friday January 21, 2022 at Candler Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Ellabell, GA to Otis A. Young Sr. and Veola Young. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from St. Leo College.

He served in U.S. Navy, serving in the Vietnam War, retiring at the rank of, Chief Petty Officer E-7 after 22 years. He taught NJROTC at Herschel V. Jenkins High School and retired from Chatham County B.O.E. after 17 years. He worked as a H&R Block Tax Preparer and taught classes. He served as American Legion Post Commander of Post 36.

Survived by his wife Adeline Young, his daughter Theresa Brehany and Cliff Brehany, his son Alan Young and Kelsea Young, his stepdaughters Renee Bohannon and Mike Bohannon, Stacey Graham and Stephanie Alford, his sister Joan Cahill and Doug Cahill, his sister Loretta Cornell, his brother Jackie Young and Shirley Young. Also surviving are several nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his sisters Frances Crowder and Virginia Smith. Otis was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He will be sorely missed by all.

Services for Otis Young, will be Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA with Rev. Tim Brown officiating. Viewing will be Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 6 pm to 8 pm.
