Savannah - Otis A. "Speck" Harper, 87, of Savannah, died, Monday, July 3 at his home with his wife and children by his side.
He was born on September 1, 1929, a son of Otis A. and Ruby D. Harper.
He served his country as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army during WW II. During his time in the service he was a Golden Glove Boxer.
He had a love of NASCAR and anything on wheels that raced. His next love was boating and people he met along their journey. He and his wife worked 'side by side" for 43 years as the owner/operators of American Plumbing. Work was his passion. He was member of Alee Temple Shrine.
During his illness his sister-in-law, Shirley O'Quinn and her son, Michael supported him. Special thanks to Monica Oglesby and Luree Bonner.
He was predeceased by his parents, Sister, Pauline H. Woods, brothers, Claude Harper and Robert "Bobby" Harper.
Survivors include his wife, JuJuan A. Harper; daughters, Terri H. Marsh (Jerry) and Laura H. Tillman, son, Juadon Austin, brother, Jimmy Harper (Dale),six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
He has taken his final lap as THE WINNER.

Visitation will be held from 4 until 5pm, Saturday, July 8, at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah.
A memorial service will be held at 5pm, immediately following the visitation in the funeral home chapel.
