Osceola O. DeDaviess, 86, of Savannah, passed away Monday, January 11th, 2016 at his Residence.

He was one of seven children born to Oliver and Pearl DeDaviess in Charleston, West Virginia. He graduated from Garnet High School in Charleston, WV in 1948 and he attended West Virginia State University where he was commissioned as an ROTC officer in the US Army.

He served his country as a pilot in the United States Army during World War II, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam, Retiring as a Lt. Colonel, yet friends knew him simply as "The Colonel" and that was what they called him.

Also known as "The Studebaker Man", for his interest of them and his personal collection of Studebakers. He was a proud man who was always on the go or working on a project.

He was preceded in death by his son, Dwight M. DeDaviess, Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Marianne B. DeDaviess of Savannah; daughters, Yvonne DeDaviess, of Joliet, IL and Charlotte J. Ankiel of Detroit, MI; brother, Juan Daviess of Tacoma, WA; sister, Yvonne Jewell of Newtown Square, PA; grandchildren, Laurence S. Stevens of Savannah, GA, Dwight M. DeDaviess,Jr. of Savannah, GA, Jakob L. Howerton and Abigail T. Howerton of Joliet, IL; great grandchildren, Laurence S. Stevens II, Louis Stevens and Johnathon Stevens.

The family will receive friends from 4pm until 6pm, Friday, January 15 at Fairhaven Funeral Home - Hubert C. Baker Chapel, Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah. Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 15th, at 6:00pm in the funeral home chapel following the visitation. Interment will be held in, Pliny, West Virginia.
