Oliver "Rocky" Perry Dekle

Oliver Dekle "Rocky" , 79, of Garden City passed away Friday, December 10, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Compassus Hospice.

Rocky was born in Gainesville, Florida, he was the son of late James Orin Dekle and Lillian Moore Dekle.

He graduated from Savannah High in 1960 and attended Armstrong State College. Rocky retired from Hunt Wesson Foods and was a member of First Baptist Church of Garden City and was in the Timothy Sunday School class.

In the past he coached little league baseball and was a Scout leader. He loved football, especially Georgia Southern football, but even more, he loved his family.

Survivors are his wife of 53 years, Linda, siblings, Dyna Simpson, Jim Dekle, Susan Watt, and Za-Ida Roberts, children, Allen Dekle (Sharron) of Pooler and Anne Rowland (Keith) of Garden City, grand children, Christopher Dekle, Jonathan Dekle, Allison Dekle Crumley, Michael Dekle, and Madison Rowland, and great grandchildren, Kaden, Camryn, Bradley, Blaire, and Emerson.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at The First Baptist Church Garden City from 9:30 am until 11:00 am; Funeral Service will began at 11:00 am followed by Graveside Services at Lower Black Creek Cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Timothy Sunday School Class.
