Oliver "Oli" Wayne Youngblood, 78, of Guyton died Monday, December 26, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family and under the care of Hospice Savannah.
Oli was born May 29, 1938 in Green, Pennsylvania to the late Nina Helen Hunter Youngblood and Neil LaVerne Youngblood.
He joined the US Air Force and served his country for 22 years; while in the service Oli worked as an Air Traffic Control Radar Tech and also a Digital Flight Simulator Tech, after retirement he went to work for The Department of Defense and later the Federal Aviation Administration where he later retired in Savannah, Georgia.
Oli was a member of the VFW Post 660, S.A.M.S. (Scottish American Military Society) Post 7, A.B.A.T.E (American Bikers Active Towards Education).
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jim; four sisters, June, Eva, Nina and Uella.
Survivors include his wife, Chin K. Youngblood; children, Ted A Youngblood (Nancy), Sue Mei Pelis (Jon); grandchildren, Connor and Veronica Pelis; brothers, Alvin Youngblood and Wilbur "Butch" Youngblood; sisters Zora Elwood and Sandra Youngblood; other family and many friends.
A gathering will be held to celebrate Oli's life from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2016 at the VFW Post 660, 5115 Ogeechee Road, Savannah, Georgia 31405.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donation be sent to the VFW Post 660.
