Norma Kay Henry

Norma Kay Henry took her journey through the gates of heaven after a long, tumultuous battle of liver disease on August 7, 2019. Preceded by her death were her beloved father and mother Martha and Enwood Faircloth, along with the witty ("tell it like it is- second dad) Jerry Morris.
She leaves behind one daughter, Renee W. Trabue (Jeff), a smart, beautiful grand-daughter, MacKenzie G. Lowe, and an athletic step-grand-daughter, Cali F. Trabue. Her long companion of over 35 years, Jerry L. Stanley. She has three sisters, Patsy Morris, Barbara Golden (Sid), and Cathy Hebert (Kurt). She leaves a myriad of nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews. Kay was a fixture mother figure to so many that came through the door, becoming their 2nd mom many times. She touched everyone who came across her path. She often spent time listening, offering advice, mediating, or helping anyone else, sometimes to a fault.
She met her ex-husband Raymond Henry at 15 years-old. Although they were divorced, they always loved one another. Despite divorcing, she always said, he was a good man, with some bad qualities, but the good outweighed the bad. Through multiple girlfriends and wives, and a child, they were always invited to holiday functions. She kept Wendy's half-sister most weeks and made sure that Wendy and Madison were close. Madison was there when Kay entered the gates.
She was a "jack of all trades" in the lawn mower business for over 30 years before becoming ill. She could still remember every part number, tell what was wrong with a lawn mower able to sell, and do the accounting for the business.
She loved her family very much. She did everything from shopping with her daughter, sister, and Granny as a Saturday ritual. Granny always said she had a "beer pocketbook and champagne taste" She was the ghost-telling queen; Christmas was a very special time for the family. She would stubbornly argue who opened presents first, her or Uncle Sid because she was five months older than Sid. It was a ritual every year.
Kay was truly a blessed woman. Her doctor, Dr. Jose Rendon and wife became part of our family and walked us through the battle Kay fault. There were so many people, business, and forever friends that provided endless help, contributions, and above all prayers. Through the malevolent, strenuous struggle, both physically and financially so many people assisted with fundraisers for her liver transplant. Sadly, the journey was cut short before getting the liver. However, she is in no more pain and is able to be with her mom, dad, and Jerry Morris.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 PM, Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 12, 2019 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home with burial following at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 315 Greenwich Road, Savannah, GA 31404.
