Nell Ouida Hadwin, 92, of Savannah, left her residence and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 24, 2018.
She was born August 7 1925, in Lyons, Georgia and moved to Savannah at the age of 5, where she lived with her loving family for the remainder of her life.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She was retired from the U. S. Post Office, having served as a Carrier for 34 years of service.
She was baptized at Calvary Baptist Temple and was a very active member in many different areas of Christian Service. She taught Sunday School and Training Union, and she was a member of the Invincible Sunday School Class, the Josie Black Exercise Class, the Betty Boatwright UMW Circle, the Wednesday Morning Bible Class, and the Shut in Ministry of the church.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Henry Hadwin, her parents, Elton E. Edenfield and Ida Ola Edenfield, and her sisters, Marie E. Burke (Robert D. Burke), Sula E. Dent (John Willis Dent), Nattie Lee Broegler (Rudolph), and her brother, Lattie J. Edenfield (Mildred T.).
She is survived by a son, Larry William Hadwin ( Emily Isabelle), of Savannah, Ga; and a daughter, Brenda Hadwin Stewart (Eddie Marion Stewart), of Swainsboro, Ga; 6 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Friday at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
Funeral Services: 1 p.m. Friday in the Hubert C. Baker Chapel, with Rev. Durwood Poole and Rev. Kenny Grant, officiating.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Larry Hadwin, Jr., Robby Hadwin, Angela Van Aman, Bradley Hadwin, Dustin Stewart, Christopher Stewart.
She was loved by all who knew her and will be truly missed by all.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
