Nancy Dorsey Hillis, age 79, passed away Tuesday, July, 12, 2022 at home with her family by her side after a short illness.
Nancy was born in Savannah, Georgia on March, 28, 1943. She graduated from Savannah High. Shortly after she married the love of her life, Donald M. Hillis Sr. on August 4, 1960, for 62 years. Nancy was a long time member of Windsor Forest Baptist Church. She retired from United Insurance Company where she served as the Office Administrator for many years.
Nancy Dorsey Hillis, is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald M. Hillis Sr.; her daughters, Cheryl Carlon, and Patricia White; her son, Donald M. Hillis Jr.; her sister, Marie Walker; six grandchildren, Cristen (Glen) Wood, Brandon (Berkley) Hillis, Victoria (Robert) Rubow, Donald M Hillis III, Clayton Hillis, and Connor Hillis; one great granddaughter, MacKenzie Wood; two aunts, Eleonor Gibeaut, and Beth Milligan; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Evelyn Dorsey; a son-in-law, Chris Carlon; and her sister, Brenda Herring.
The family will be receiving friends Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31406.
A funeral service will be held at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel, on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow the funeral service at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 315 Greenwich Rd, Savannah, GA 31404.
