Nancy Elizabeth Goodman

Nancy Elizabeth Rushing Goodman, 74, of Townsend, GA passed away peacefully, Thursday, May 2, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family

A native of Augusta, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Bernard L. Rushing and Esther Stuckey Rushing.

Her family moved to Savannah in 1962 for Mr. Rushing's work where she graduated from Jenkins High School.

She was well known for her kindness and her sense of humor.

Mrs. Goodman was employed for many years as an associate at Belk. She was an active member at Morgan Chapel United Methodist Church in Townsend, GA. In her spare time, she enjoyed birding, playing Mahjong with her church friends and quilting. Her love of quilting led to her membership in the Dorcas Society where she lovingly created quilts for many people locally and around the world.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Goodman; and stepsons, Joseph E. Goodman, Jr. and E. Ryan Goodman.

Survivors include daughter, Donna Dye (Patrick) of Acworth, GA; step children, Stephanie Goodman of St. Augustine, FL and Jason Goodman (Dana) of Madison, WS; grandson, Dr. Roland "Trey" Castellanos III (Tiffany Song) of Vancouver, WA; step grandchildren, Bekah Land (Aaron) of St. Augustine, FL, Tyler Prescott of Waycross, GA, and Miles and Madeline Goodman of Madison, WS; brother, Donald Rushing of Tillman, SC; sister, Mary Rushing of Swainsboro, GA; nephews and nieces, Donald N. Rushing, Rebecca Dillbeck, Andrew Rushing; and a number of great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 11am at Morgan Chapel United Methodist Church in Townsend, GA. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 2:30pm at Greenwich Cemetery.
