Myrna Turner Maddox won her fight with PSP on November 8, 2020, at home surrounded by loving family.
She was born in Lincoln County, Georgia on September 16, 1943, to Thomas A. Turner, Sr. and Janie Mae Turner. She and her husband, Tony married on January 31, 1965 in Augusta, Georgia. After a time in the Army they moved to Savannah, Georgia in 1968. God blessed them with two sons. They traveled in the area with several southern gospel groups; they served as house parents at Bethesda Home for Boys. They served in various capacities in area churches and she was a charter member of Pooler Church.
She is survived by her husband, Dean A. Maddox Sr. “Tony”; son, Dean A. Maddox Jr. “Dino” (Robin); grandchildren, Kayla and Jacob; son, Nathan T. Maddox, all of Savannah; sister, Laverne Wilson; brother, Alan Turner; and sister, Vera Maddox (Perry), all of Augusta, Georgia.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service. A private burial will take place at Beaufort National Cemetery.
