Ms. Jane Inez Flake, born April 25, 1934, has passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018, after a long illness.
Ms. Flake was preceded in death by her parents Norman Grady Flake, Agnes Verda Denmark Flake; 5 brothers and sisters: Richard Grady Flake, Jesse Morgan Flake, Mary Flake Jarriel, Ella Nora Flake Parrish, Delos Emerson Flake; and her son Michael Helmut Flake .
She is survived by her granddaughter Jorjanne Rebekah Frances Flake, daughter-in law, Natalie Flake Ford, and several nieces and nephews.
Ms. Flake was born and raised in Brooklet, GA. She graduated as an RN from Georgia Baptist Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Ms. Flake served with distinction as an RN at the Georgia Tech Infirmary for many years and retired as an RN from Northside Hospital in Atlanta.
Ms. Flake was one of the first flight nurses in the Georgia Air National Guard retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel after over 37 years of service.
Ms. Flake was a former member of Dunwoody Baptist Church for many years and lastly a member of Buckhead Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association.
Graveside Service: 3:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Middleground Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 7198 Harville Road Statesboro, Georgia 30458.
