Mr. Isaac Heyward, Sr., son of the late Mr. William Heyward and Mrs. Hattie Heyward, was born in Chatham County, Georgia on October 10, 1927. He departed this earthly life and was received by his Heavenly father on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Signature HealthCARE of Savannah, Georgia.

He joined East Savannah Church of God in Savannah, Georgia, where he served for many years.

Mr. Isaac Heyward, Sr. was educated in the Savannah-Chatham Public Schools. Mr. Isaac Heyward, Sr. became a member of the National Federation of the Blind; he was well known in downtown Savannah, selling candy.

On July 26, 1959, he married the love of his life, Richiedeen Housey Heyward.

Also preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, are his siblings: Geneva Heyward and Roy Heyward; and grandson, Tyrell Heyward.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving Richiedeed Heyward; two sons: Mr. Isaac Heyward, Jr. (Nanette) of Savannah, Georgia and Mr. Joseph Heyward (Melanie) of Savannah, Georgia; two daughters: Gloria Heyward Mancotywa of Columbia, Pennsylvania and Ms. Mary Lloyd of Savannah, Georgia; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sisters: Ms. Helen Sim and Ms. Mamie Heyward of Savannah, Georgia; four brothers-in-law: Thomas Housey (Mary) of Connecticut, John Housey (Linda) of Williamston, North Carolina, Clyde Housey (Connie) & Edward Housey (Coretta) of Connecticut; sisters-in-law: Rose Parker (Clarence) & Annie Mae Duncan of South Carolina; Letha Duncan, Mabel Heart, Patricia Bryant (James) and Lily Sapp, all of Connecticut; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family wishes to thank Compassus Hospice & Palliative Care & Ms. Pat.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 19th, 2017 at 11:00 AM from the East Savannah Church of God, 1116 E 57th Street. Interment: Woodville Cemetery.
