Monica L. Stokes, 71, of Savannah, Ga passed away Monday October 8, 2018 under the care of Hospice.
She was a successful business owner and entrepreneur. Monica and her husband owned and operated Cracker's Lounge and Checkered Flag restaurant. After retirement from her many businesses she could not sit idle, so she returned back to driving a school bus which was something she had done earlier in life and loved dearly. She provided for her family and loved them with all of her heart. She was a great mother, grandmother, and sister.
She was predeceased by her parents, Bernard and Helen Townsend; husband of 38 years Cracker Stokes; son, Michael Shae.
She is survived by her daughter, Traci Stokes; sons, Mark Stokes (Tammy), Andre Dickerson, and Chad Stokes (Heather); brothers, Waymond Townsend (Ann), Darrell Townsend (Pam); sister, Debbie Ketchum (Larry); 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 11:30 am to 12:30 pm Friday October 12, 2018 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home- Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
Funeral Service: 12:30 pm Friday October 12, 2018 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home- Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
