Miriam Theresa Rains

Miriam Theresa Rains, 89, of Savannah, GA passed away May 19, 2021 surrounded by family.

A native of Savannah, she was the daughter of the late Albert Leon Alexander and Reta Wilma Bazemore Alexander. She was a member of Windsor Forest Baptist Church.

She retired from St. Joseph's/Candler Hospital after 21 years of service. After retiring, she worked for the bowling alley on Tibet for many years. She was a member of Alee Shrine Patrol Ladies Auxiliary, a charter member of the Savannah Area Genealogical Association, and a former member of the Wednesday Express Bowling League.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Bobby Lee Rains and a brother, Francis Marion Alexander.

Surviving are a daughter, Suzanne Rains Kelly; sons, Bobby Rains, Jr. (Lisa Brinson), Scott Rains (Penny Cloud), and Douglas Rains (Linda King Pugh); grandchildren, Christopher Kelly (Elaina Tingley), Dani Rains, Kristin Rains Shiver (Jordan), Adam Rains, Hannah Rains Lariscy; great grandchildren, Julian Sorrells and Emery Claire Shiver.

A memorial service will be held Saturday May 22, 2021 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Hubert C. Baker Chapel at 1PM with Rev. Mark Gentry officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Abbey on Wheaton Street.
