Miriam Laverne “Millie” Wilson, age 81, of Savannah passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022.
Mrs. Wilson was born on September 30, 1940 in Ellabell, GA, the daughter of Lawsie Weeks and Bessie Blitch Weeks. She was a graduate of Savannah High School and worked for over 30 years as an administrator with Savannah Pediatrics. She was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was also a member of Harvest Church of the Nazarene. She was also a member of the Ladies Club. She enjoyed reading, traveling, her cats, and cooking and would share her joy of cooking by serving the homeless.
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her sons, Bert Lance and John Lance. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Henry Michael Wilson; daughters, Melanie Lance and Deborah M. Wilson-Pevey (Ron); son, Michael S. Wilson; grandchildren, Jordan Lance, Travis Ray, Austin Dennis, Gabrielle Fennell, and Destiny Wilson; and a host of great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 21, 2022 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406. The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. Burial will follow the funeral service at Hillcrest Abbey West.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
