Minnie Ruth Valdez Cook, 71, of Bloomingdale passed away Wednesday, October 26th, 2016 at Memorial Health University Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
A native of Millen, she was the daughter of the late Rudell Arnold and Rachel Melrose Tennison Arnold. She was a member of South Newington Baptist Church and was the President of Valco Properties.
Survivors include her husband of 16 years, Charles "Eddie" Cook of Bloomingdale; her daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie Garvitte Morris and Aldie Morris of Bloomingdale, GA, Cheryl Garvitte-Knight and Gene Knight Jr. of Effingham County, GA; a step daughter, Joyce Marie Cook of Savannah, GA; two step sons, Charles Edward Cook IV of Savannah, GA and John Martin Cook of Savannah, GA; one sister, Mary Ruth Cetchovich of Savannah GA; one brother, James Arnold of Knoxapater, MS; twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends for visitation 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Friday October 28, 2016 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home in Garden City, GA.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, October 29th, 2016 at South Newington Baptist Church, with burial to follow at 2:30 pm at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Portal Portal, GA.
