Mildred Senoma Durden

November 5, 1943 — September 25, 2024

Mildred Senoma “Big Nomie” Durden, 80, of Guyton, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at her daughter's home.

A native of Amory, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Cleveland Strawbridge and Ruby Ozell Southard Turner.

Senoma was a Godly woman and a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. There was never a dull moment with her and she was always smiling. Senoma loved her soap operas, traveling with her grandkids, flowers, but most especially loved her family. Senoma found the positive in any situation. She could turn anything into a flower bed. She creatively made homemade birthday and anniversary cards for her family, which she took great pride in. She enjoyed spending time with family, taking the great grandchildren to feed ducks and spending time at their river property. Senoma looked forward to the holidays, and getting to spend them with her loved ones. Her favorite time of year was the 4th of July because she greatly enjoyed watching the fireworks.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Joe Durden; sister, Martha Hall, and son in law, Stephen E Roberts Sr.

Survivors include daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Roberts; sons, Bobby Wayne Durden (Tammy) and Ricky Joe Durden (Chrissy); grandchildren, Tashira Lynn Decker (Graig), Stephen Eubanks Roberts Jr., Jessica Faye Roberts, Brandy Nicole Durden, Bobby W. Durden Jr., Ashley Renee’ Durden, Little Nomie (Matt Saxon), Jessie Durden, Emma Durden and Ricky Joe Durden Jr.; sisters, Fay Hogan, Celia Astin (Tim); brother, Eugene Strawbridge (Margaret); godson, Robin Rhodes (Pennie) as well as several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be Monday, September 30, 2024 from 1-1:30 pm at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held Monday, September 30, 2024 at 2pm at Hillcrest Abbey West on Dean Forest Road with Rev. Kenny Harrelson officiating.
