Mildred Theresa Walz Miller or better known as Millie, age 82, of Savannah gained her angel wings and entered the kingdom of heaven on Friday, January 17, 2025.
Mrs. Miller was born on August 8, 1942 in Savannah to the late John Hugh Walz and the late Evelyn Blanche Sherin Walz.
Mildred was a graduate of Jenkins High School Class of 1960. In 1963 she married Frederick Miller and became the mother of her 3 beautiful children, Lynn, Theresa, and Ricky. She was a Brownie Troop Leader (troop #78) in Savannah for many years when her children were young. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge 1550 for many years and participated in many events at the Lodge. She was a Christian and her faith in God was very strong. She was an avid lover of all animals, especially her beloved dogs Journey and Ginger. She enjoyed doing many things such as crafting, crabbing, baking, working in her yard planting and tending to all of her beautiful flowers. She loved to decorate and celebrate the people she loved. No one had a birthday without cake and ice cream, no matter their age. She was a very devoted wife and mother, not just to her children but to many who were not her own. She loved her family and her grandchildren with all of her heart. She never met a stranger and had a heart of gold. She touched the hearts of every person she met. To know her was to love her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Barbara McGrath (Joe) of North Carolina
Gloria Jean (Sydney) Dickerson of New Jersey, Son-in-Law, Randy Mitchell of Savannah, and her Great Granddaughter Faith Reaves.
She is survived by her husband, Frederick Miller Sr. of Savannah; her sister, Frances Saxon of Savannah; two daughters, Lynn Todd of Savannah and Theresa Lee (Donnie) of Savannah; a son Ricky Miller (Sarah) of Savannah; and her stepdaughter Tina Wilson (Ray) of Guyton; and 15 Grandchildren, Amber South (Luke), Jessica Mitchell (Trevor), Randy Mitchell, Hunter Miller, Ceara Lee, Tyler Lee (Shannon), Kimmie Miller (Chris), David Roe, Brittany Mann (Michael), Mai-le Miller, James Zapeline, Carter Wilson, Heather Sylvester (Kyle), Ashley Flint (Michael), and Randy Marshall. She is also survived by 16 Great Grandchildren, Emma, Kyleigh, Kaycee, Remy, William, Indie, Tre, Kimara, Christiana, CJ, Christopher, Destiney, Baby Christopher, Tucker, Preston, and Adam; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews who she loved dearly.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA 31406).
Visitation will be held on Friday evening, January 24, 2025 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
