Michael Wayne “Mike” Jennelle, age 72, of Savannah passed away Monday, December 20, 2021 after a brief illness.
Mike was born on January 12, 1949 in Christiansburg, VA, the son of the late Harry L. and Anne Jennelle. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War era. He was a longtime member of Islands Christian Church and was a Managing Business Partner with J&B LawnCare. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, bass fishing, hunting, target shooting and his Georgia Bulldogs games.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of almost 44 years, Carolyn Jennelle; sons, Glenn Brist (Nicole) and Chris Brist (Naomi); brothers, Jim Jennelle (Sherry) of Sterling, VA and Mark Jennelle (Robin) of Roanoke, VA; and grandchildren, Olivia Jennelle Brist, Michael Preston Brist, and William Brody Brist, several nieces and nephews, cousins and many lifelong friends. His loving (canine) companions Maxx, Lacey and Cuppa Joe are longing to greet him one more time after a day's work.
Mike never encountered a soldier without extending a hand of thanks for his/her service. He was known to pick up a soldier's lunch check on many occasions. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, take the time to thank a soldier or a first responder, buy them a meal or lend a helping hand in Mike's memory.
A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 9, 2022 at The Mackey House, 190 Red Gate Farms Trail, Savannah, GA 31405.
