Michael Patrick McDermott, age 69, from Skidaway Island, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024.
Michael was born in St. Petersburg, Florida. The family moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where Michael attended Mary Lin elementary school, and graduated from Druid Hills High School in 1973. He furthered his education at the University of Colorado, Boulder, Colorado.
He moved back to the Clearwater/ St. Petersburg, FL, area until returning to Atlanta.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Richard McDermott, Sr., and his younger brother, Joseph Richard McDermott, Jr.
Survivors include his mother, Jeanne Waters Pittman; sister, and Julia McDermott (spouse Carl Rapp).
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Druid Hills High School, guidance counseling department.
