Michael Patrick Massey, age 53, of Savannah, Georgia passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 after a long illness.
Known to his friends as Mike and his mother as "MickMouse", he was born December 1, 1970 in Savannah, Georgia to the parents of Betty Ruth Brown and Paul W. Massey Sr. Mike received his GED and went on to work mostly on his own as a landscaper, carpenter, contractor, etc.
Mike had a talent of being able to fix about anything. He was a hard worker, stubborn, and loved to tell jokes. However, his mother said not all his jokes were always funny! Mike would give you the last dime out of his pocket. He was blunt. Sometimes others did not always know how to take him. Mike was a great cook. He perfected hamburgers in a pan on the stove, could make some great goulash, and loved to add cheese to almost everything he made. Mike was a patient Atlanta Falcons fan, loved the Georgia Bulldogs, and Hawks. He never missed a game from his favorite recliner. Mike shared his love of Alice and Chains with his daughter Destiny. He was very close to his maternal grandparents and enjoyed many vacations with them.
Mike is preceded in death by his father, Paul W. Massey Sr., his maternal grandparents, Col. Newton E. Brown, and Francis R. Brown; and his paternal grandparents, John W. Massey, and Lana Dees Massey.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Destiny Dawn Anne Younce Massey; his mother, Betty Ruth Mauldin; one sister, Dawn M. Borte (Donald); three brothers, Troy Massey, Paul Massey, Christopher "Chris" Massey; and many nieces and nephews that he absolutely adored (way too many to list).
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Mikes honor to the Humane Society for Greater Georgia.
