Michael William Curry, 42, of Pooler, Georgia died suddenly Saturday, November 19, 2016.

Mike is the son of Susan Alex Salem and the late Richard E. Curry. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and had lived most of his life in and around Chatham County; A 1993 graduate of Robert W. Groves High School and member of The Church at Godley Station.

Mike was a US Navy Veteran and a Master Fireman for The Savannah Fire Department. A highly decorated Fireman, some of Mike's certifications include, Emergency Medical Responder, Disaster Search and Rescue Technician, Swift Water Rescue Technician, SCUBA Diver, Advanced Rescue Diver, Public Safety Diver, Fire Boat Operator and was a member of the National Association of Underwater Instructors and the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators.

He was a member of the Richard T. Turner Lodge, #116, F. & AM's, the Scottish Rite Consistory and a member of Alee Temple where he served in the Hillbilly Unit; the Pink Heals, Red Knights International Firefighters Motorcycle Club (Founder of the Savannah Chapter), Georgia Critical Incident Stress Foundation, Godley Station Kidz; the founder of HELPKIDS and was the Cub Master for Pack #4102.

Survivors include his children, Cole Michael Curry and Meagan Curry; mother, Susan Salem (Ronnie Web); sister, Tamara C. Spivey; brother, Anthony Shane Curry; nieces, Christa N. Curry, Madison G. Spivey; nephews, Alex K. Spivey, Cameron J. Curry; maternal grandmother, Ora Mae Alex; maternal grandfather, Edward P. Alex (Dottie Alex); uncles, Greg Alex (Lisa), Ricky Alex; aunt, Cindy Crump; numerous extended family and all of his Firefighter brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2016 at the Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel, 2794 West US Highway 80, Garden City, Georgia 31408.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016 at The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, 222 East Harris Street, Savannah, Georgia 31401.
