Matthew David Warren passed away on December 27, 2020 at Memorial Hospital. He was born in Colleton County, S.C. September 21, 1922 to Henry R. and Ottie Padgett Warren.
"Mac" left home to join the CCC camp for young men 18-25, planting trees and making roads throughout the National Park System we enjoy today.
He returned home and married Annie Gean Ellis and was soon drafted into the Army where he served in the South West Pacific, New Guinea and the Philippines. When the war ended in 1945 "Mac" was happy to come home to his family.
He retired from Kaiser Chemical in 1987. He loved attending the Pt. Wentworth Senior Center daily and watching Braves Baseball. He was a member of Pt. Wentworth Methodist Church and it is well with his soul. Mr. Warren is predeceased by his wife, Annie Gean Ellis Warren, four brothers and one sister. He is survived by two sons, David (Judy), Gene (Glenda), four grandsons, Alan (Nan), Steve (Teresa), Chris (Marnie) and Brian (Hannah), eight great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. He is also survived by one brother, Homer Warren of Hampton, S.C.
The family of Matthew Warren is very appreciative of your calls, prayers and thoughts. Due to the times the family will gather privately for granddaddy's service.
