Mary Deason Pepitone-Edwards, age 90 of Savannah passed to go with our Lord on Saturday, September 17, 2022.
Mary was the daughter of the late James E. Deason and the late Edna B. Deason. Mary was born April, 9, 1932 and was raised in Savannah. She graduated from Commercial High School in 1951. Mary moved to New Jersey and was married to John Pepitone and raised two children, Charles and Valorie. She was a wonderful mother and wife.
In her career, she was the manager of Fugazi Limousine in New York City and the manager of Lynn Cheverolet in New Jersey. After retirement she moved back to Savannah to be with her brothers and sisters, and her old and new friends. Mary is a long standing member of the American Legion. She was president of the women's auxillary in Keanry, NJ post 99 and a member of the Thunderbolt post 184. Also, she was worthy Matron of the White Star Chapter 367 in the Eastern Star in Thunderbolt, and was a member of the Greeters in the Shriners of Savannah. Mary was honored to be a member of Connexion Church, where she had many cherished friendships.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, John Pepitone; second husband, Charles "Chully" Edwards; her partner, William "Billy" Smith; her son, Charles Pepitone; and her brothers, Ed "Bubba" Deason, Henry Deason, and Thomas "Tommy" Deason.
Mary is leaving behind to cherish her memory her dear daughter, Valorie Pepitone; step children, Glen Edwards and Kim Bennett; grandson, Justin (Andrea) Pepitone; step grandchildren, Robbie and Kelly; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty (Richard) Powell, Rena (Dan) West, and Joan Evans; and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A visitation will be held Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 11:00 until 12:00 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA 31406).
A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA 31406).
