Mary King Sullivan, age 96, of Savannah passed away Monday, March 22, 2021.
Mrs. Sullivan was born on September 10, 1924 in Savannah, the daughter of the late William Furman King and Louise Jennings King. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and was a graduate of Savannah High School. During World War II she worked with the Central of Georgia Railroad. Following her time with the railroad she cared for her family for many years. She was a longtime parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and was active with the Legion of Mary. She was also a member of Sigma Beta Phi. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, was an avid reader, and enjoyed volunteering her time to help others.
Mrs. Sullivan was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, W.T. Sullivan, Jr.; son, Patrick King Sullivan; and siblings, Frances Louise King and Furman King. She is survived by her sons, William Thomas Sullivan, III (Dori), Michael Timothy Sullivan, and Howard Jennings Sullivan (Kim); daughter, Mary Louise Rahal (Philip); grandchildren, Kerilyn S. Ninness (Ross), Patrick King Sullivan, II (Brooke), Katie S. Kangeter (Brad), William Sullivan IV, Alexandra Rahal, Ashley Sullivan, and Alyse Sullivan; 8 great-grandchildren; and beloved pets, Cece and Ash.
The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 26, 2021 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1003 E. Victory Drive, Savannah, GA 31405. Burial will follow at Bonaventure Cemetery.
Social distancing and masks are required at the visitation and funeral Mass.
