Mary 'Betty" Benoit

Mary Elizabeth 'Betty" Benoit, was born on July 31, 1926 in Savannah, GA. Mrs. Benoit was called home to be with the Lord on December 14, 2017, while at home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Benoit was preceded in death by her parents, Evander and Lillian Mixon, her husband of over 50 years Wallace Lee Andrew Benoit, and two grandchildren Thomas Richard Smith II (Yvonne) and Wendy Faye Hendricks - Young (Rebecca). Mrs. Benoit is survived by her children: Nancy Stewart of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Becky Hendricks (Darrell) of Savannah, GA; Yvonne Benoit -Strahle (Grant) of Bloomingdale, GA; Michiel Rene Benoit (Elizabeth) of Satsuma, AL; Rhonda Faye Benoit (Lani) of Savannah, GA; Marla Kaye Grady (Steve) of Wilmington, NC; 11 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren and 9 Great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Benoit was a longtime member of The Sycamore Church previously known as Tabernacle Baptist Church on 52nd Street in Savannah, GA. Mrs. Benoit's hobbies included Traveling, Playing Bingo, Reading and spending time with friends and family.
Mrs. Benoit had recently found out she was eligible to be a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 18, from 11:00am until 12:00pm, at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah.
A Funeral will be held at noon on Monday, December 18 in the Chapel of Baker McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park, Wheaton St., Savannah.
