Mary "Jackie" Brown, age 92, of Savannah passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 28, 2022.
Mrs. Brown was born in Macon on June 30, 1929 to the late Pearson Tucker and the late Mary Goodrum Shepard. She was formerly a Kindergarten Teacher at Grove Park and was a homemaker for many years. Mrs. Brown was a woman of faith. She was an active member of Bull Street Baptist Church in Savannah, where she taught a children's Sunday school class. She was also a Daughter of the American Revolution. Mrs. Brown married her husband of 71 years on September 20, 1946. Marvin and Jackie loved to travel. They had an opportunity to extensively travel parts of Europe, and they even had the honor of meeting Queen Elizabeth.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Michael Murphy and Glenda and Joseph Wilson; son and daughter-in-law, Marvin & Taryn Brown, Jr.; grandchildren, Kelly Murphy Michaud, Amy Wu, Rebecca Borrelli, Rachael Wilson, and Maggie Brown; and great grandchildren, Jonah and Emmalyn Borrelli.
Visitation will be held Friday from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Dr. Savannah, GA 31406).
A funeral service will be held Friday, July 1, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Dr. Savannah, GA 31406). Interment will follow at Hillcrest Abbey East.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bull Street Baptist Church (1400 Bull St. Savannah, GA 31401).
