Mary Belle Dix Jones, 96, formerly of Savannah, passed away Monday in Sumterville, Florida.
Born in Charleston, South Carolina to the late Laura Jo Scott and Henry Theador Dix, Mrs. Jones had lived with her daughter for the past 18 years in Texas and Florida. She was a great cook, known for her Crab Cakes, and was often called "the cookie lady" because she took cookies to church every week.
Mary Belle was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Henry Madison Jones; three brothers, Theador, Lewis, & Danny Dix and is survived by her daughter, Gail Powers; two sons, Dr. Mack Jones and David Jones (Marie); seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 2:00-3:00 PM Thursday, June 21, 2012 with Funeral Services to follow at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Bonaventure Funeral Home. Interment: Bonaventure Cemetery.
