Marvin Edwin Brown,Sr.,92, of Savannah and husband of Mary Jacqueline Tucker Brown, died, Sunday, February 19th, 2017 at Memorial Hospital.
He was born on October 10, 1924, the son of the late, Fred A., Sr., and Jessie Mae Barton Brown.
Marvin served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, receiving a Purple Heart Medal.
Marvin was a member of Bull Street Baptist Church, where he served on the Board of Deacons.
He worked for Southern Bell for 37 years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
Marvin was Past President of the Salzburger Society.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Fred A. Brown, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie; daughters, Beverly Brown Murphy (Michael) of Savannah and Glenda Brown Wilson (Joe) of Carmel, New York;Son, Marvin Edwin Brown, Jr. (Taryn); five granddaughters, Kelly, Amy, Becky, Rachel and Maggie.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am, Thursday, February 23, at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 23rd, 2017 at 11:00am in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be at Hillcrest Abbey-East.
