She transitioned to the day-old bread store on 52nd Street before finishing her time with Derst in the corporate office. Never being one to sit idle, Martha decided to get back in the workforce and worked in the lumber department at the Pooler Home Depot until she retired.
Martha had an unwavering love for her entire family. She was affectionately known by those who knew and loved her as “Mott”. Spending time with her family was one of her greatest joys where she often brought her famous pound cake for all to enjoy. Along with family time, she enjoyed baking, working in her flower beds and reading books like they were going out of style.
To her children, Martha was the epitome of what every mother should be. She was always quick to say her kids were her greatest accomplishments. Without question, she was always there with a listening ear, a warm hug, or a shoulder to cry on. The continuous impact she had in shaping their lives knew no bounds and will continue to be a guiding light in the years to come. They will forever remember her for her unconditional love, compassion, generosity, humor and unbelievable strength.
