With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Martha Pevey Warren on March 20, 2025. She passed away peacefully with her daughters at her side.
Martha was born on June 5, 1947, to Allison and Daisy Bell Dickerson. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allison and Daisy Bell Dickerson, her siblings George Dickerson, Andrew Benjamin Dickerson, and Mary Edna Collins, and her beloved husbands, Jack Lavone Pevey and Don Warren.
She is survived by her daughters, Andrea Green (Rick) of Black Creek, GA, and Mary Garner Gay (Sammy) of Black Creek, GA; her grandchildren, Madison Bennett (Tom) of Augusta, GA, Makenzie Garner- who Nanny lovingly referred to as 'from California'- Garrett Garner of Savannah, GA, and Jackson Gay of Black Creek, GA; and her great-granddaughters, Beckham Bennett and Brooklyn Bennett.
Martha loved animals and was always feeding and caring for strays. She also had a passion for reality TV, especially Big Brother, and her love of Diet Coke has certainly been passed down. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
"In the South, we don't say goodbye; we say, 'See you later,' for love always lingers, like the scent of jasmine in the air."
She was truly loved and will always be remembered.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
