Martha Jane Hutcheson Burke

Martha Jane Hutcheson Burke, age 89, of Savannah passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022.

Mrs. Burke was born on December 27, 1932 in Macon, GA, the daughter of the late Ovid and Ruth Kitchens Hutcheson. She attended Armstrong State College and was a longtime volunteer at Richmond Hill Primary School. She was a longtime member of Taliaferro Baptist Church until its closing and continued as a member of Whitemarsh Island Baptist Church. She served as a Sunday School Teacher for 40 years. Martha was an avid Atlanta Braves and University of Georgia fan, loved sweets, and was a wonderful Christian.

Mrs. Burke was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Robby Wray Burke, Sr.; sons, Rev. Robby Wray Burke, Jr. and Rev. Thomas Ovid Burke; and sister, Margaret Ann Thorpe. She is survived by her daughter, Holly Burke Anderson (John Steven); daughters-in-law, Karen Burke and Sabrina Burke; grandchildren, Erin (Josh), Leanne, Jason (Becki), Brian (Megan), Taylor (Ryan), Mark (Bella), and Lucas; great grandchildren, Carson, Liam, Ethan, Brett, Shelby, and Maddox; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel is assisting the family with a private graveside service at Greenwich Cemetery.
