Martha Jacquelyn Bacon Alderman, 90, of Savannah, GA passed away May 18, 2021 at Habersham House.
She was born August 29, 1930 in Savannah, GA to the late Martha Alma Lanier and William Bacon. She lived in Savannah her entire life and was a 1948 graduate of Savannah High School. She had been a member of Calvary Baptist Temple since 1937, where she sang in the choir and met the love of her life, Robert Thomas Alderman. The two were married June 7, 1952.
Jackie was an avid reader and a sports fan. She dearly loved her family and had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband and a brother, William Bruce Bacon.
Surviving are a son, W. Thomas Alderman (Pamela) of Marietta, GA; a daughter, Lynn A. DeWitt (Joseph) of Richmond Hill, GA; grandchildren, Patrick Alderman, Emily Alderman, Catherine DeWitt Little (Will), and Matthew DeWitt.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Habersham House and Hospice Savannah for their wonderful care of Mrs. Alderman and the family.
The family will receive friends Friday May 28, 2021 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home - Hubert C. Baker Chapel from 12 - 1 with a funeral service at 1:00 pm with Dr. Derward Poole officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey on Wheaton Street.
