Marjorie “Marcee” Gallagher, age 86, of Savannah and formerly of Ridgeland and Bluffton/Hilton Head Island, SC passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022 under the care of Hospice Savannah.
Marcee was born on February 23, 1936 in Long Branch, NJ, the daughter of the late Arthur and Esther Fliedner. As a young adult, she moved to the Midwest for a while and worked as a model. She returned to NJ and met and married Dean Gallagher. She was a loving homemaker for many years, and also helped Dean with his landscaping and then concrete businesses. In 1982, the family of three moved to Hilton Head Island, SC, and, after raising their daughter, Marcee worked for several years with WalMart.
Marcee was an excellent cook, a fan of horror movies, and a loving, kind, sometimes sassy lady with a quirky sense of humor. She loved the outdoors, gardening, traveling, hiking, painting, and making all sorts of crafts. She leaves behind a legacy of love.
Marcee was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Albert J. Fliedner, Sally J. Mello, George A. Fliedner, Jessie A. de Vegh, and Gerald D. Fliedner. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Dean T. Gallagher; daughter, Traci L. Schumacher (Jon); and grandchildren, Anna V. Schumacher, William T. Schumacher, and Evan M. Schumacher.
