Margie J. Winn, age 84, of Savannah, Georgia, loving mother of three, passed away at St. Josephs Hospital on November 28, 2022.
Margie was born on June 9, 1938 in Hampton, South Carolina. She had two siblings and a lot of aunts and uncles. Margie was a lover of people, and animals. She loved to fish. Margie always had a smile to share and a hand to lend. She was active in social and charitable organizations and made good friends throughout the Savannah area, and beyond. Margie was passionate about donating her time, energy, and talents to raise money for the Shriners hospital. You would often find Margie surrounded by her large family and friends at her home by the river. Margie, lovingly known as “Meme” by her 11 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren, was absolutely thrilled about her growing family. In her free time, Margie enjoyed shopping, decorating, traveling, and spending time with her family as often as possible. She believed it was important to know how to make a good martini. She will be greatly missed by her family and especially her 3 children; Gary Stokes, Kathy Dickinson, and Paula Melton.
“There is no death, daughter. People only die when we forget them”, my mother explained shortly before she left me. “If you can remember me, I will be with you always.” - Isabel Allende
