Margaret "Bit" Gloria Yates

Margaret “Bit” Yates, 75, of Savannah, entered into rest Wednesday, February 21,2024 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born in Soperton, Ga, later moved to Savannah where she met and married her late husband Charles “Arte” Yates Jr for over 50 years.

She is survived by a daughter Shannon Megginson (Steve), and two sons Teton (Christy) and Flash Yates (Ashlee). Several grand and great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews in which she loved so much both on her side and Arte’s side. Her 3 brothers Murray, Mickey, and Darvin Morris, and 3 sisters Judy Douglas, Margie Waters, and Rosemary Doyle.

To sum Bit up she was selfless, loving, adventurous, gentle, and so funny. She loved to garden and plant flowers and spend time with her family as often as possible. She will be very missed! Bit, we love you and we will see you soon on the other side. Until then there’s a void in our hearts that no one can ever fill.
